I remember being 10 maybe 11 and staring at this ad for several minutes at a time. It was the only reason why I opened my step-father's issues of Sports Illustrated.
What's with the ancient pix of Jim Palmer on the blog? Tripping down Nostalgia lane? Is he still alive? I remember that ad...however the still-handsome sports person turned commentator Howie Smith (I think that;s the name) is still at the head of my wish list. Howie LONG did some acting, commercials, but mostly ESPN announcer. - N
