July 31st, 2012

"I'm so comforted by the fact that July has 31 days. I really want that extra day before August starts." - Gretchen Rubin

Internet is back after a 3 day absence. I knew when it abruptly shut down on Saturday that the construction crew out front that was cutting and digging had had something to do with it. They denied it. And now? It's obvious!... Seems Con Ed didn't mark the ground appropriately for the contractors?... OK... SO it's fixed... Next...

"If the wind will not serve, take to the oars". - Latin Proverb

Saw To Rome With Love yesterday... Woody Allen's latest picture. It was great silly fun...
. (Thanks to Postal Lady) Alec Baldwin was terrific. Woody should have played the grandfather ... Not the father... It's time that somebody talks to him...

In a word: Grom. Paid them a delicious visit last night...

Note to Self: You MUST remember that PS1 is consistently and persistently showing drek. Gotta stop including PS1 on a staycation list of Must-Sees. Right after the dirtiest art show I ever saw (a room full of soil), I'm convinced the best art exhibition at PS1 is the Boiler Room in the basement. There, they painted the interesting ancient fixtures in gold...

Watched terrific documentary about the daring and brilliant photographer on the DVR: 'Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens'. I highly recommend.

D'Alo's 'PINOCCHIO' to open Venice Days: Independent section to run Aug 30 - Sept. 8
NYC Deals: The Belvedere Hotel, New York: 3.5 star hotel from $315 for 1 night(s). Price includes fees.

Summer house cleaning?... “The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best." — Epictetus

And remember... "Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing". - Mother Teresa

Sherman Hemsley was a GAY! Deal with it, bitches! screams Michael Musto in La Dolce Musto. Are flags at 185 East 85th St flying at half staff at the recent death of George Jefferson? "Well, we're movin on up...to a dee luxe apt...

And all that jazz... Legendary Bob Fosse featured on a fabulous new postage stamp!...

Oprah's Life Class on the DVR taught:

"Unforgiveness, unchecked, becomes a cancer on your soul." - Bishop T. D. Jakes

"Holding onto a resentment is like holding onto your breath... You suffocate." - Deepak Chopra

So, then, let me get this out of my system with Caps lock: MITT ROMNEY IS AN IDIOT!

Meanwhile, your stressful job is making you age faster.

And yet... I'm 28 years old today... And every day... because:

"Biological age correlates better with psychological age than with chronological age." - Deepak Chopra said that.

One dirty little secret about buried things in all cities is that they really don't have a good idea where they are.

They just sort of know the general area where it might be. So that's how they manage to chomp the data side for you. Nothing like backhoe fade to make a network person nervous.

Re: Pinoc Remake... Yes, and why? Granted that Disney’s was highly sugar-coated and not even set in Italy..but more like a Swiss village....but it hit the main points of the story and Pin’s adventures w/o being dark and drab...as for intense...the donkey scenes and Whale chase are surely scary enough.
